THE METANOIA PROJECT IS A SEASONAL SHELTER IN CLEVELAND, OHIO.

OUR MISSION IS TO CHANGE HEARTS, FILL GAPS, AND SAVE LIVES.

we Operate through the coldest months of the year to ensure that our unsheltered neighbors stay safe and warm.

Our Mission and History

Founded in 2007 by a group of homeless outreach workers and advocates, our organization emerged in response to Cleveland’s growing unsheltered population.

We operate a winter shelter for individuals who cannot—or choose not to—use traditional shelter systems. Guests may avoid larger shelters for many reasons, including distrust, previous bans, mental or physical health concerns, or personal preference. Whatever the reason, our mission remains simple and vital: to ensure no one freezes to death in Cleveland.

Once guests have met their immediate needs, our team helps connect them to additional resources such as affordable housing opportunities, recovery programs, and medical care.

Our services are entirely voluntary. We ask nothing of our guests beyond following basic safety guidelines within the shelter.

Each year, we serve approximately 250 individuals, offering warmth, dignity, and a path toward stability.
